Reflecting on Capturing My First Wedding with Photography and Videography: A Dorset Farm Celebration Nearly Two Years Ago…
In March 2023, I launched Fresh Eye Productions Ltd with a background in photography, videography, and a love for capturing people in their natural element. While I originally planned to focus on theatre, weddings quickly pulled at my heart—and I’m so glad they did.
Kelly & Rick’s wedding, on the 6th of May 2023, was my very first. Set on the groom’s family farm in Wimborne, Dorset, it couldn’t have been a more beautiful or memorable start. It rained all morning (not ideal for an outdoor ceremony!), but just before the vows, the clouds parted and the sunshine arrived. Muddy? Yes. Magical? Absolutely.

One of my favourite details? The welly boots used as flower pots, and the handmade cake topped with a bride and groom in farming gear—every element reflected them. Even when Kelly had to change out of her dress because it had soaked up so much rainwater and mud, the joy never left her face.
That wedding taught me what I truly love about this work: not posing, not perfection—but connection. Moments. Storytelling.
Since then, I’ve had the honour of documenting Kelly & Rick’s daughter’s naming ceremony, their maid of honour’s wedding, and later this summer, the groom’s sister’s big day. These are the stories I love to tell. And it all started with this one.
To celebrate the refresh of my brand as Fresh Eye Weddings, I’m currently offering 20% off all collections when you secure your date by 31st May 2025.
